Everyone should review and become familiar with the updated rules (last update 3/3/10). You will need WORD to get the rules. If you cannot get a copy - let your President or Cheryl know.
Some Quick Updates from the February 28th meeting
Entry Fee - $ 5.00
Stalls - $54.00
Stalls cost will include $45.00 for the stall and $9.00 for 2 bags of shavings @ $4.50 each
Stall Shavings
The Fairground has implemented specific rules governing STALL Shavings
you can find the rules on page 19 of the Federation Rules and also on the bottom of the State Show page on the Federation website
Actual Show begins Saturday, September 4th - 6:45 am
Move in day is Friday, September 3th - begins at 8:00 am
Stalls will not be available prior to Friday morning
Photographer
Glossy Finish will continue as the Official Photographer
Steps will be taken to have a photographer in both Judged and Timed Arenas
Flash cameras are allowed and no protest or reruns will be allowed due to flash photography. This was added as the official photographer should not be hendered in use of a flash when the Board cannot control individuals with a flash.
Work Schedule
The same format used in 2009 will be used at the 2010 show.
Adjustments are being made to help workers know who they are relieving
by the use of colored vests.
All workers must be at least 17 years of age.
All workers should know the patterns and the rules for the event as they are
the official judge for the time they are in the ring.
The number of workers needed has been decreased and specified by event.

Quick Updates from the November 8, 2009 and January 17, 2010 meetings
There wlll be 2 Arenas
Opening Ceremony, Reaves Arena 6:45 am Saturday September 4
All Running events will be held in Reaves Arena
There will be no events on Friday night
All events start 7:00 am Saturday September 4
Saturday will cover all youth events - Pony, 1-12, and 13-19
possibly could get to Men's 20-38 Poles
Sunday will pick up where we left off on Saturday night
Order of Events - Poles, Cones, Texas, Arena, Cloverleaf
Ladies 20-38 Men 20-38 Ladies 39 + Men 39 +
a call will be made around 9 pm on Saturday and Sunday
to determine how far the events will go
A Memorial Service will be held in Reaves Arena on Sunday -
as close to 12:00 noon as both arenas can stop
Monday will pick up where we left off on Sunday and run until finished
We should be finished no later than 12:00 noon
All Pleasure Events will be held in the new Horse Arena

T'SHIRT DESIGN CONTESTThe deadline for the T'shirt contest was Saturday, February 20th - we received 2 entries.
The Committee was selected with 5 Pleasure members and 5 Running Members.
Each were sent the two entries with a deadline to provide their final vote by
Thursday, February 25th.
I would like to thank each of the committee members for their participation
and for their honest and open opinions on the two entries.
The majority of the response showed that neither entry was exactly what Deep Dixie would like
for the 2010 T'shirt. Although both were cited as good entries, #1 only covered the running side with
no recognition for pleasure and #2 had no horse of any type shown, with some feeling thsi would not
tell others what Deep Dixie actually is. Most voted, that if we had to select one of these,
they would have to go with #2, however, some stated they could not vote for either.
I also had a request from the Pleasure side that they may would like to design their own this year.
Based on the responses and the low amount of participation in submitting entries, the decision
has been made to squash the T'Shirt Contest. Should anyone in either Pleasure or Running
choose to step forward and design a shirt for their group, they are free to do so.
The winner of the T'Shirt contest would have won $50 and a free T'shirt.
Due to the termination of the contest, the two entries will be awarded a Thank You note and $25.00
each (splitting the $50 prize), however, we will not be able to provide them a free T'shirt.
